The experiential, hands-on learning that can take place in a garden can improve academic achievement and behavior, bolster self-confidence and teamwork skills, and instill a sense of responsibility in our students. Gardens can also present challenges. Our Youth Garden Program offers customized garden support for k-12 schools and after school programs so that each organization can utilize their garden as a unique and beneficial learning space. GROWyoming's Youth Program provides support in the following ways:
Weekly garden-based lessons that are connected to Wyoming State Science Standards, taught by GROWyoming staff for one month during the season of your choosing
Follow-up lesson plans to keep your students engaged
Access to GROWyoming's seeds and seedling share
Garden maintenance during school breaks
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to get started!
Workshops are offered to the community throughout the year, including Container Gardening, Building Hoop Houses, Wreath Building, and so much more! Our 2017-18 Workshop Schedule is coming soon!
Come check us out at the Laramie Farmer's Market this summer! We will have lots of activities for kids as well as great plants and GROWyoming merchandise.
